This is the great white shark and dolphin statue that I made for JA Studio last year, depicting the famous great white shark named Haole Girl. Haole Girl is a large-bodied, fat-bellied giant shark. Its most recognizable feature is the huge scar that runs through its gills. Not only did I sculpt and replicate the large scar, but based on many recent photos and frame-by-frame video studies, I also replicated the small scars and folds from every angle in copper. We used the spinner dolphin that appeared in the documentary as a contrast to the immense size of the great white shark, and the final effect was very satisfying.
